About Me
Hello, I'm Caroline Fellows and I'm from St. Louis, Missouri- so yes, I'm a Cardinals fan. One important thing to know about me is that I am a dancer. I took my first class when I was five years old and I have been hooked ever since. I do ballet, tap, jazz, modern and pointe and also participate in regional dance competitions. What I love about dance is the ability to be able to express myself without words; one of my favorite things to do at my dance studio is participate in our annual Nutcracker ballet, where I get to act in several roles, whether it be in the party scene, the fight scene, the snow scene, or the numerous other scenes.
When I joined my high school newspaper freshman year, I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into. My older sister had written for the paper when she was in high school and she had seemed to like it, so I thought I'd give it a try. I knew that I enjoyed writing and taking a journalism class would introduce me to a new style of writing. What I didn't know, however, was that I was about to embark on a truly one of a kind journey full of four hour bus rides, pizza parties, trivia contests, journalism conferences, and hours and hours spent with some of the people I am proud to now call my best friends.
After taking the prerequisite journalism class my freshman year, I was the Online and Video Editor for my school's newspaper sophomore year, Online Editor junior year (a role with more leadership including selecting monthly stories with the Editor-in-Chief and Junior Editor) and then I will be Editor-in-Chief my senior year. I have written stories in all genres, recorded podcasts, anchored newscasts, and take numerous photographs at school and community events.
I have loved echoing the news with our significantly small staff of about 12 people for a 1400 student body and I am so excited for this year!
